 Dr. Ikram Kureshi is a native Texan who grew up in the Houston area and attended Rice University.  He completed medical school at Texas Tech University School of Medicine in Lubbock.  He then went on to do his general surgery residency at the University of Connecticut in Hartford, CT where his interest in bariatric surgery and laparoscopic surgery began.  He then completed the Harvard Bariatric and Minimally Invasive Surgery Fellowship in Boston, MA where he specialized in performing the Lap-Band and laparoscopic gastric bypass procedures. 

 He also specialized in various laparoscopic gastrointestinal surgeries such as laparoscopic hernia repairs, lap Nissen fundoplications, lap paraesophageal hernias, lap colectomies, lap splenectomies, lap appendectomies, lap pancreatectomies, and lap gastrectomies. He is also board certified by the American Board of Surgery  

Dr. Kureshi's practice philosophy is to treat his patients as if they were his own family. He and his staff pride themselves on service with a smile and his goal is to perform the most appropriate surgery for the patient in a safe and effective manner.
